Under the direction of the Director of Special Projects, The Infant Toddler Child Care Specialist will provide training, support and consultation to home and center child care providers with the goal of increasing the quality and accessibility of infant and toddler child care in Illinois. Duties include: develop ongoing consulting relationships with child care practitioners including center staff, directors and family child care providers; identify the needs of different infant toddler care facilities; provide on-site training and technical assistance based on an assessment of the infant toddler program.

This position requires Bachelors Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field and five years of experience working with young children in a full-time, full-year child care setting, with a minimum of two years in an infant/toddler child care setting; excellent communications and presentation skills; demonstrated knowledge of and respect for the ways in which adults learn and adjust to change; accessibility to reliable personal transportation with insurance, valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally with occasional statewide travel required.
