The A+ Tutor, an in-home tutoring agency, is seeking warm, experienced, patient, and exceptionally qualified tutors to meet the growing demands of our 1st through 12th grade students for this school year, 2010-2011.
We help students achieve their academic goals in virtually all subjects.
As an A+ Tutor, you will tutor students in the comfort of their homes – so you must have reliable transportation. No exceptions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
All of our tutors MUST have at least one (1) year of tutoring experience, be able to pass a rigorous background screen and have the following minimum academic qualifications:
High/middle school tutors, grades 6-12:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited school;
- Minimum GPA of 3.25;
- SAT scores of 600+ in Math, 600+ in English, or, 650+ in GMAT/GRE; and/or;
- Top 15% of ACT exam.
Elementary school tutors, grades pk-5:
- Bachelor degree in education; and,
- Teaching experience in elementary school or as a teacher’s aide/assistant.
COMPENSATION:
High school individual subject tutoring for grades 9-12: $35-$42/hr
High school standardized test prep SAT/ACT exams $42-$53/hr
Middle school individual subject tutoring for grades 6-8: $30-$35/hr
Middle school standardized test prep SSAT/ISEE: $35-$37/hr
Elementary subjects for grades pk-5: $25-$30/hr
OTHER:
All of our tutors should speak English fluently, be warm, compassionate and be able to present materials to our students directed and specific to their learning style(s). Our tutors are paid bi-weekly and can earn extra money through creative Marketing activities, like using car magnets, etc.
