Detroit Public Schools is one of the country's premiere urban school districts and is the largest school district in the State of Michigan. Our mission is to develop a customer and data-driven, student-centered learning environment in which students are motivated to become productive citizens and lifelong learners, equipped with skills to meet the needs of their next customer, higher education or the world of work. This is accomplished through unique programs such as Davis Aerospace, the only high school in the country that students learn aircraft maintenance/repair and earn a pilot's license. We have immersion language programs to give our students an advantage when competing in the global economy and several career technical centers located throughout the city to teach students a wide range of careers from automotive repair, allied health and culinary arts to name a few.
