An interactive workshop designed to assist K-5 teachers in differentiating reading instruction by using independent Student Center Activities that support skills in the five components of reading (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension). This workshop includes a presentation of the research to support the use of reading centers, videotaped examples of teachers using reading centers to differentiate instruction, and hands-on activities.This workshop can be tailored to meet the needs of the participants.
